Id like to know if educational experts such as Marzano believe that detailed time consuming lesson plans required of teachers (especially elementary teachers) who already do not have enough plan time will make teachers better? More effective? Also, how can teachers get administrators and legislators “Get It” that detailed time consuming lesson plans will actually make teachers more ineffective as their time will be devoted to writing these detailed plans they will not even look at after the first day. Instead teachers need more time to actually collaborate, make parent phone calls, create more meaningful visual aides and activities. We need more time to PREPARE and PUT TOGETHER meaningful lessons and GATHER MATERIALS AND RESOURCES!!..NOT WRITE detailed lesson plans that are meaningless when the information is in the teacher’s editions already!!! Please help!
